CAMPUS MINISTRY

The Newman Center at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is your home away from home. Our student community is composed of students who come from all over the world. We invite you to join our campus ministry, including faith-building retreats, student dinners, and many more social activities!

The students’ Wednesday Newman Night offers opportunities for faith sharing.  Student dinner, socials and hospitality events help build community.  Outreach and service activities connect students with parishioners, and communities outside Newman. Faith and Fellowship Group caters to specific needs of graduate students, and of young professionals (including recent graduates) who are looking for a faith community to support and deepen their life of faith.

We invite you to come to our Student-led Mass on Sunday at 5pm. The Newman Center is here for you – we have food in the kitchen and coffee in the pot throughout the week. We have a student lounge with a flat screen TV and comfortable couches where you can have some rest and recreation. There is free WiFi access making this a great place to come and study throughout the academic year. During finals week each semester, Newman Center stays open during the day and at night as a study haven for all students to come and study in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere – with snacks provided.

We encourage you to get involved in whatever way you can. Our community thrives on individuals stepping forward and making it their own community throughout their time here in Hawaiʻi. We hope you can feel that this is your home away from home. Aloha.
