To support the various needs of the retreat, please consider making a donation.
What is the Busy Person’s Retreat?
The Busy Persons Retreat is an opportunity to meet with a director trained in Ignatian Spirituality who will listen to you and help you see more deeply how God is already at work in your life.
You can come to know God more deeply; you can grow in gratitude for the many gifts God has already given you; you can see more clearly how God is inviting you to live your life.
What happens on this retreat?
The first gathering on Saturday morning begins with some guidance on a way to pray during this retreat. This way invites you see how your everyday activities are, or can be, a response to God’s love. It can help the Scripture stores we are so familiar with come alive in your heart.
The Sunday optional gatherings can give you a deeper experience of Ignatian contemplation or a hands-on experience using art as a medium for prayer.
In Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday you will meet individually with your assigned director to talk about your life, your experience of God, your joys, your struggles. Your director is there to listen to you and offer guidance for your continuing reflection.
On Wednesday evening we gather for Mass and a “checking-in” to reflect on the graces you have received so far.
On Thursday and Friday, you can take this additional time on your own to use some of the suggestions in the provided journal to help deepen the graces you have received. (This is optional)
On Saturday morning, you can join with others for a final gathering to share again the fruits of this retreat that you have experienced. We will also look at ways you might continue exploring these graces in your everyday life. (This is optional)
