We are pleased
to announce that the new director /pastor of the
Newman Center/Holy Spirit Parish has been appointed
by Bishop Larry SIlva.
Fr. Jack Ryan,
presently the paster of St. John the Bapist Church
in Kalihi will be coming on July 1, 2011.
Fr. Jack studied his theology
at the Washington D.C. Theological Union, and
received a Master's degree from Georgetown University.
He lived with the Jesuits while at Georgetown
and has a great sense of humor.
Understanding
The Revised Mass Texts
A change is coming to the prayers and responses
of the Mass. These changes take place on the First
Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011. We will help
our parish prepare for these changes by offering
a series of sessions explaining the various changes
and translations. All are welcome to these sessions
held immediately after the 9 a.m. Mass at Moore
Hall on the following dates:

This is a Novena to St. Francis
Xavier, patron of missions and apostle of Asia,
to ask for his intercession. There are blue cards
with the novena prayer on the credenze for you
to pick up.

Noted Author and Spiritual Guide
Father Richard Rohr, OSF is coming to Chaminade
in March.
Fr. Richard Rohr will be giving
a workshop Wednesday Evening, March 23rd, 2011
at 6:30 p.m. The topic: An Evening of Recollection
on Men’s Spirituality. $15 Registration required
by March 14th, $20 at the door.
He will give the Mackey Lecture
on Sunday, March 27th, 2011at 4 pm. The topic
is The Naked Now and will address finding our
way back to God, a perfect talk for the Lenten
season. This event is free.
Both events are in the Mystical
Rose Oratory on the Chaminade/St. Louis Campus.
